With a degree in contemporary dance and experience as a professional dancer touring Europe, yoga was a natural progression from Mari's extensive experience and knowledge with the dancing body and a deep rooted curiosity in mindfulness and meditation. Having completed her 200 hour hatha/vinyasa yoga TTC in India and another 200 hour Embodied Flow teacher training with Adele Kinghan, Mari is driven by a profound passion to help and guide others on their yoga journey, amalgamating her love for dance and movement with her fascination and passion for mental health and well-being and the holistic, life-affirming philosophy of yoga.
Mari is also studying to become a MindBody Therapist, a holistic approach that recognises that our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and attitudes can affect our biological functioning. The intention of MindBody therapy is to support the processes of healing and transformation while working with every aspect of an individual - psychologically, psychically, spiritually, energetically, socially, and environmentally.
Mari believes that, “through the practice of yoga we can remember our true essence - dynamic, spontaneous and joyously free. Bit by bit, we can allow our heart's deepest affirmation to sing through - to say 'yes' to every present moment experience, even when the mind protests. The practice of yoga is to immerse yourself in the whole of divine reality, available in every moment, and through that practice, wholeheartedly embody the truth that you are whole and complete exactly as you are, nothing needs fixing. This journey can be scary and raw as you peel back the layers of conditioning. It's also playful, exciting and liberating and it is my sincerest desire to support you on this journey back home to yourself, to ride along side you as you explore your innate strength and attentively care for your unique bodymind whilst also remembering your deep connectedness to everything and everyone around you."
