Introduction to Ayurveda through Restorative Yoga

Join guest teacher Perry McDonald for a 30-minute introduction to Ayurveda followed by
90-minutes of grounding restorative yoga.
This special Restorative Yoga session will subtly weave through Ayurveda principles, focusing on grounding and nourishing the body and mind.
Ayurveda is a sister science to yoga and presents a vast toolbox of treatment modalities to choose from, all with the goal of re-establishing your natural balance. By understanding and working with our own constitution, we can begin to see the likely imbalances stemming from innate tendencies.
Perry has been practicing Ayurveda for 10 years, incorporating her knowledge of Ayurveda and naturopathy to provide a well-rounded approach to health care. She works with the principles of Ayurveda, always with the intention of promoting healing, balance, harmony and peace.
No yoga experience needed.

About Perry McDonald
Perry works with the principles of Ayurveda, always with the intention of promoting healing, balance, harmony and peace.
Initially graduating with a science degree, majoring in biochemistry and microbiology, she then studied Naturopathy at the South Pacific College of Natural Therapeutics and graduated with a Naturopath Diploma in 1984.
After having children and working in Human Resources she went back to study full-time completing a 3-year Diploma of Ayurvedic Medicine. Perry has been practicing Ayurveda for 10 years, incorporating her knowledge of Ayurveda and naturopathy to provide a well-rounded approach to health care.
All through this period Perry practiced Yoga and attended courses with well -known names such as Judith Lassiter, Donna Farhi, Glenn Ceresoli and others. A formally qualified teacher specialising in Yoga Therapy RTY 500 hours, Perry has been teaching Yoga now for more than 10 years.
Perry’s aim is to deliver the essence of Ayurveda lifestyle, naturopathic and yogic practices. She believes in offering a pragmatic approach tempered with her love for helping people thrive.
